UM HOMEM DIFERENTE (A DIFFERENT MAN, USA, 2024) – O filme de Aaron Schimberg é um estudo sobre estética e autoconfiança, porque propõe uma reflexão sobre como lidamos mal com nossas imperfeições, enquanto há pessoas vivendo em perfeita harmonia com elas. A partir daí, o diretor e roteirista aponta um paradoxo interessante: mudar o lado externo não necessariamente altera os sentimentos dentro de nós, como mostra a personagem de Sebastian Stan, Edward, um ator sofrível, com uma deformidade facial para ele limitadora de sua felicidade. Filmado em 16mm por Wyatt Garfield, o filme tem a cor e a textura dos anos 70, e sua temática está ligada à SUBSTÂNCIA, com Demi Moore e à ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF A SPOTLESS MIND, quando a Edward é dado um presente impossível: um procedimento cirúrgico capaz de transformar sua aparência.
