Matt Damon é a força motriz do filme – sua atuação é a alma da história e reveste a história de credibilidade, sem deixá-la cair na pieguice e nos fazendo torcer por ele, por sua família e pelo zoológico. Thomas Haden Church está perfeito como o irmão de Damon e Scarlett está perfeita em todos os sentidos. Scarlett Johansson is mandatory and so is Matt Damon. This movie is on the list of the simple but essential ones, for several reasons: the leading roles, of course; the optimist message, the drive to do the right thing according to the heart; the loss of a beloved one; the hope that comes from a common goal; the security only true friendship can offer and, not less important, the love for animals. What really makes this film work is Matt Damon. His character is the heart of the film and the soul of the family. His performance is strong enough to prevent the film from lapsing into pure sap and makes us care for him, his family and this zoo.
