TERREMOTO
(EARTHQUAKE, USA, 1974) – Este filme-catástrofe, típico
produto dos anos 70, começa como uma cena catastrófica: uma briga de casal
muito malfeita com Charlton Heston e Ava Gardner. Levando em consideração os
parcos recursos técnicos (ruins, apesar da ressalva), a atração é o elenco com
alguns dos mais famosos astros da época, como Heston e Gardner: George Kennedy,
Lorne Greene, Richard Roundtree, Lloyd Nolan e o melhor de todos, Walter
Matthau, fazendo um bêbado num bar. O tom de novela alonga um filme curioso que
marcou uma época em que os grandes desastres já estavam no roteiro. This catastrophe movie, a typical product of
the ’70s begins with a catastrophic scene: a couple’s fight, with Charlton
Heston and Ava Gardner. Taking into consideration the limited technical resources
(very bad, despite the warning), the cast is the main attraction, with some of
the most famous stars of the time, besides Heston and Gardner: George Kennedy, Lorne
Greene, Richard Roundtree, Lloyd Nolan and the best of all, Walter Matthau, as
a drunk in a bar. The soap-opera tone makes the movie a landmark in a time in which
the great disasters were already in the writing.
