A esta altura, Connery já não suportava o personagem e suas relações com os produtores já estavam deterioradas, a ponto de ele se recusar a atuar, se eles estivessem no set. É curioso constatar, aos olhos de hoje, como o ritmo narrativo filme – considerado agilíssimo na época – é lento demais, fragmentando as sequências de ação e ressignificando o timing dos diálogos.
