Aparte as mortes das pessoas da lista de Vincent, o roteiro consiste basicamente na interação entre Cruise e Foxx, em longos diálogos dentro do táxi, fazendo do relutante respeito mútuo inicial uma quase sugestão de amizade, beirando, em muitos momentos uma inevitável Síndrome de Estocolmo. Sob um olhar atual, podemos inferir uma discussão sobre as condições de um trabalho uberizado ainda nos seus primórdios, expondo motoristas aos mais diversos riscos imanentes a uma cidade como Los Angeles. Collateral is a good psychological thriller, enriched by Michael Mann's artistic decisions, from night photography to the profile of the main characters. Apart from the deaths of the people on Vincent's list, the script basically consists of the interaction between Cruise and Foxx, in long dialogues inside the taxi, making the initial reluctant mutual respect an almost suggestion of friendship, bordering, at times, on an inevitable Stockholm Syndrome. From a current perspective, we can infer a discussion about the conditions of uberized work still in its beginnings, exposing drivers to the most diverse risks immanent to a city like Los Angeles.
