A REDE (THE NET, USA, 1995) – Trinta anos depois, é interessante ver como os primeiros tempos da internet começavam a impactar o mundo de então: podia-se pedir uma pizza online e ai de quem perdesse um disquete com informações valiosas – se isso acontecesse, era uma tragédia sem volta. Sandra Bullock nunca foi uma atriz impactante – apesar do Oscar por UM SONHO POSSÍVEL – mas fica clara a sua presença agradável em cena, especialmente num filme com muitas cenas de perseguição (ela esteve muito bem também em VELOCIDADE MÁXIMA), como é o caso de A REDE. O roteiro, premonitoriamente, mostra como o mundo já estava à mercê do controle digital e a importância redimensionada da manipulação de informações pessoais. É um thriller eficiente, apesar de algumas soluções dramáticas, inevitáveis no caso, para transformar a personagem de Sandra Bullock em heroína, por mais improvável que fosse. Sandra Bullock has never been an impactful actress – despite the Oscar for THE BLIND SIDE – but her pleasant presence on screen is clear, especially in a film with many chase scenes (she was also very good in SPEED), as is the case of THE NET. The script, premonitorily, shows how the world was already at the mercy of digital control and the resized importance of the manipulation of personal information. It is an efficient thriller, despite some dramatic solutions, inevitable in this case, to turn Sandra Bullock's character into a heroine, as unlikely as it was. Prime.
