4975 - TWO AND A HALF MEN - TEMP 4 (2007)

TWO AND A HALF MEN – TEMP 4 (USA, 2007) – Esta é uma das melhores temporadas de TAHM, com episódios engraçadíssimos, especialmente o último, no qual Evelyn termina com Teddy, para o desespero de Charlie e Alan, que passaram a adorá-lo, depois que ele os levou a Las Vegas para uma farra com picolés e prostitutas. A sequência final, com Evelyn e seu novo namorado, Hugo (Mike Connors, de Mannix), sendo surpreendidos por C e A é simplesmente antológica, principalmente pela atuação de Holland Taylor. This is one of the best seasons of TAHM, with very funny episodes, especially the last one, in which Evelyn breaks up with Teddy, much to the dismay of Charlie and Alan, who have come to adore him, after he took them to Las Vegas for a spree with popsicles and prostitutes. The final sequence, with Evelyn and her new boyfriend, Hugo (Mike Connors, from Mannix), being surprised by C and A is simply anthological, especially for Holland Taylor's performance. 

4974 - O ULTIMATO BOURNE (2007)

O ULTIMATO BOURNE (THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, USA, 2007) - Aqui temos uma daquelas raras franquias que ficam cada vez melhores. A grande notícia é que o diretor Paul Greengrass está de volta e, diga-se, melhor do que nunca. Ele traz mais realismo e técnica nesta sequência do que no filme anterior. Matt Damon envelheceu e se envolveu no personagem de forma mais perfeita, a ponto de parecer viver o papel e realisticamente o personagem. Não consigo imaginar mais ninguém no papel neste momento. David Strathairn é simplesmente magnífico, e Julia Stiles está surpreendentemente excelente. As sequências de perseguição estão entre as melhores, e goste ou não da shaky cam, ela faz exatamente o que é necessário e nos lugares certos. A intenção é ficar na mesma vibe, enquanto assiste ao filme, o que é exatamente o objetivo. O objetivo é sentir e experimentar o que Jason Bourne está vivendo. A cinematografia funciona brilhantemente. Here we have one of those rare franchises that constantly gets better and better. The great thing about it is that Director Paul Greengrass is back and better than ever. He brings more realism and technique in this sequel than he did in the last film. Matt Damon has gotten older and into the character more perfectly to where he seems to be living the role and realistically the character. I can't really picture anyone else in the role at this point. David Strathairn is just magnificent, and Julia Stiles was surprisingly quite excellent. The chase sequences are some of the best, and they like it or hate the shaky cinematography – it does exactly what is necessary and right on point. The intent is to be agitated as you watch the film, which is exactly the point. The intent is to feel and experience what Jason Bourne is experiencing and feeling. The cinematography technique works brilliantly.

 

4973 - O CHACAL (1997)

 

O CHACAL (THE JACKAL, USA, 1997) – O filme de Michel Caton-Jones, mesmo depois de tantos anos, ainda chama atenção principalmente pelo elenco estrelado, apesar dos furos do roteiro que, hoje, não passariam tão desconsiderados como o foram na época. A presença de Sidney Poitier, na sua última atuação, evidentemente, faz qualquer filme valer a pena, não? Richard Gere e Bruce Willis, como antagonistas, parecem estrelar sozinhos seus próprios filmes, já que só contracenam na sequência final – parece ficar evidente a antipatia entre os dois quando estão frente a frente, e isso dá uma certa autenticidade à atuação dos dois. Aliás, em virtude da atual situação de saúde de Willis, vê-lo atuando neste filme é indizivelmente emocionante. Mesmo levando em consideração as falhas do roteiro, O CHACAL (refilmagem de O DIA DO CHACAL, baseado no romance de Frederick Forsyth) ainda é um bom thriller policial, principalmente por causa de seu trio de protagonistas. THE JACKAL (USA, 1997) – Michel Caton-Jones' film, even after so many years, still draws attention mainly for the star-studded cast, despite the holes in the script that, today, would not go as unnoticed as they were at the time. The presence of Sidney Poitier, in his last performance, evidently makes any film worthwhile, doesn't it? Richard Gere and Bruce Willis, as antagonists, seem to star alone in their own films, as they only act together in the final sequence – the friction between the two seems to be evident when they are face-to-face, and this gives a certain authenticity to their performance. In fact, given Willis' current health situation, seeing him acting in this film is unspeakably exciting. Even considering the flaws of the script, THE JACKAL (remake of THE DAY OF THE JACKAL, based on the novel by Frederick Forsyth) is still a good crime thriller, mainly because of its trio of protagonists.
