CONTÁGIO (CONTAGION, USA, 2011) – A
primeira sequência do filme é aterradora (a última também), principalmente em
tempos de coronavírus: em cenas rápidas do cotidiano, vemos como o contágio se
alastra, imperceptível e descontroladamente. A partir daí, tudo é bem parecido
com o que vemos atualmente, no mundo inteiro. A insegurança também atinge as
autoridades e os médicos e ninguém sabe o que fazer para conter o vírus, para
cuja cura parece não haver esperança a curto prazo. O filme de Steven
Soderbergh pretende e consegue capturar a ampla realidade de uma doença que se
espalha em escala global, sem se concentrar em arcos dramáticos individuais. The first sequence is creepy (as the last one): during
fast scenes of daily routines, we see how the virus spreads in an imperceptible
and uncontrolled way. From this point on, the massive disease outbreak resembles
what is happening now in the whole world – insecurity reaches authorities and
doctors and nobody know what to do to prevent the virus from spreading. It is
clear that the cure is far from being a reality. Steven Soderbergh’s movie captures
the wide reality of a disease that can take out anyone, even the main cast,
without focusing individual dramatic arches.
