3599 - O EXORCISTA (1973)

The untold truth of The Exorcist

Still today it is a movie that is matched in shock, terror, writing, or performances. The film itself is both a moving and terrifying drama that takes a realistic look at what would actually happen if a young girl were possessed in modern America, more specifically in Georgetown. William Peter Blatty's script is amazing, bringing depth to the characters, and presenting the mystery of faith that they all deal with. The characters are very strongly portrayed and the feeling of hopelessness is ever-present throughout the movie, with some outright shocking and provocative scenes. I am always impressed by Jason Miller’s performance. Max Von Sydow is as superlative as Miller, providing that he had already face death in THE SEVENTH SEAL.
