SENHORES DO CRIME (EASTERN PROMISES, USA, UK, 2007) – David Cronemberg acerta novamente. Indo na contramão de Nietzsche e sua negação da possibilidade de uma moralidade universal, o filme do diretor canadense pontifica que a ética – sem expectativa de recompensa – pode prevalecer mesmo no meio do pior caos. Isso está personificado no papel de Viggo Mortensen – é ele o grande destaque do filme, em especial por causa da impressionante sequência de luta numa sauna, tradução literal de violência nua e crua (veja a cena, pois não darei spoiler). O título em inglês se refere às promessas feitas a jovens russas, atraindo-as para o ocidente, onde são escravizadas e prostituídas. Naomi Watts e Vincent Cassel no elenco.
