PODER ABSOLUTO (ABSOLUTE POWER, USA, 1997) – Clint Eastwood é obrigatório. Neste interessante thriller político, apesar de algumas implausibilidades do roteiro, ele traz alguns pontos para reflexão: a relação pai e filha (aqui a dele com Laura Linney), o valor das obras de arte, a arrogância do poder político (Gene Hackman como presidente mulherengo dos EUA), a ineficiência do Serviço Secreto americano, o sentido de justiça diluído nas artimanhas palacianas. In this interesting political thriller, in spite some implausible situations of the script, he brings some points to be discussed: father and daughter relationship (here his with Laura Linney), the value of art, the arrogance of the political power (Gene Hackman as the womanizing president of the USA), the inefficiency of the American Secret Service, the sense of justice lost in the clogs of the power. The film was professionally performed and directed by Clint Eastwood. It has some flaws and gaps; but it's nevertheless solidly agreeable. Prime.
