TREK – THE CAGE (USA, 1966) – Este piloto não tinha Kirk, mas
sim o Capitão Christopher Pike, vivido com baixíssima vibração por Jeffrey
Hunter que, anos antes, havia feito o papel de Jesus, em REI DOS REIS. Em THE CAGE,
as linhas mestras do universo STAR TREK já despontavam, mas ainda com conceitos
meio indefinidos. Da tripulação, somente Spock (Leonard Nimoy) passaria para a
série canônica, felizmente com sua personalidade Vulcano/humana estabelecida da
forma que nos fascina até hoje. Neste episódio, falta humor e as atuações são
demasiadamente teatrais. This
pilot did not have Kirk, but Captain Christopher Pike, played with very low vibration
by Jeffrey Hunter who, a couple of years before, had played Jesus in KING OF
THE KINGS. In THE CAGE, the master lines of the STAR TREK universe are there,
but still through undefined concepts. From the crew, only Spock returned to the
canonic series, fortunately with his Vulcan/human personality that has been
fascinating us until today. This episode lacks humor and its cast overacts their
parts to the point of being unrealistic.
