A MALDIÇÃO DA MANSÃO BLY – 9 EPISÓDIOS - (THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR, USA, 2020) – De novo, o Flanaganverso traz seus atores para mais uma história passada numa casa supostamente assombrada. Mike Flanagan se especializou nessas sagas familiares transpassadas por elementos de horror nem tão explícitos assim. Na Mansão Bly, o roteiro gira em torno de uma babá americana, (a mesmerizante Victoria Pedretti, de YOU) cuidando de duas crianças órfãs, numa casa onde residem o cozinheiro Owen (Rahul Kohli), a jardineira Jamie (Amelia Eve – atenção para o sotaque britânico inebriante) e a governanta Mrs. Grose (a maravilhosa T’Nia Miller, uma atriz maiúscula, cujo talento preenche a tela no episódio 5 “The Altar of the Dead”). No cotejo com o a ótima MISSA DA MEIA-NOITE (o melhor trabalho de Flanagan até aqui) e A MALDIÇÃO DA RESIDÊNCIA HILL, BLY fica com o terceiro lugar, muito por causa de certa imprecisão do roteiro nos dois últimos episódios. The Flanaganverse brings back its thespians for another ghost story in a supposedly haunted house. Mike Flanagan is an expert in these family sagas fraught with not so explicit horror elements. In BLY MANOR, the script encompasses an American babysitter (the mesmerizing Victoria Pedretti, of YOU) taking care of two orphaned kids, at a house where reside the chef Owen (Rahul Kohli), the groundskeeper Jamie (Amelia Eve attention to her inebriating British accent) and the housekeeper Mrs. Grose (the wonderful T’Nia Miller, a great actress whose talent fills the screen in episode 5 “The Altar of the Dead”). In comparison with the exceptional MIDNIGHT MASS (Flanagan’s best work so far) and THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, BLY has the third place, due to some imprecision of the two last episodes’ script.
