A CASA DE DRÁCULA (THE HOUSE OF DRACULA, USA, 1945) – David Carradine, no papel de Drácula, oferece uma versão meio subnutrida do conde. Não é para menos: pateticamente, ele vai atrás de uma cura para sua vampirice, procurando um médico que, neste mesmo filme, vai tratar da licantropia de Lawrence Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr, no papel que o consagrou). Assim como aconteceu em O FILHO DE DRÁCULA (1943), esta tentativa de esticar o sucesso da série de filmes da Universal não acrescentou nada à fase áurea do gênero. David Carradine, as Dracula, delivers a feeble version of the Count. No wonder, he pathetically seeks a cure to his vampirism with a doctor who, in this same movie, is going to treat the lycanthropy of Lawrence Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr, in his most successful role). Accordingly, to what happened with THE SON OF DRACULA (1943), this balky attempt to stretch the success of Universal monster series did not add anything to the golden age of the gender.
