SANSÃO E DALILA (SAMSON AND DELILAH, USA, 1949) – Cecil B. DeMille aproveitou a história consagrada de Sansão e Dalila, para estourar a tela com as cores fortes dos cenários grandiosos que sempre caracterizaram suas produções bíblicas. Victor Mature teve o papel de sua vida, assim como Hedy Lamarr que, além de atriz, era também inventora: em 1942, desenvolveu um mecanismo de comunicação para as Forças Armadas dos Estados Unidos, que serviu de base para a atual telefonia celular. O filme, apesar do tom exagerado, ainda permanece como um ótimo exemplar das grandes produções que marcaram este período de ouro do cinema. Cecil B. DeMille took advantage of the famous story of Samson and Dalilah to use the strong colors of the huge sets that always characterized his biblical productions. Victor Mature had the role of his life, as well as Hedy Lamarr who, besides being an actress, was also an inventor: in 1942, she developed a communication device for the US Military that served as the basis for the cell phone. The movie, despite being hyperbolized, is still a great edition of the big productions of the golden age of the cinema.
