TRÊS ANÚNCIOS PARA UM CRIME (THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI, USA, 2017) – Frances McDormand mereceu o Oscar de Melhor Atriz, como uma mãe que teve a filha assassinada e, com seu luto, ateia, literalmente, fogo numa cidadezinha no interior dos Estados Unidos, assim como Sam Rockwell o de Melhor Ator Coadjuvante, no papel de um policial ignorante e racista. E se houvesse outro prêmio, este iria certamente para Woody Harrelson, como o chefe de polícia que reflete o estereótipo do caipira atrasado, mas decente e com uma presença arrebatadora. Se a força do filme está na atuação dilacerante de Frances, é em Harrelson que vem sua grandeza, ao trazer para a trama um policial dedicado e consciente, preocupado com o desfecho generalizado de uma tragédia acontecida um ano antes. O filme é o retrato da América interiorana: branca, pobre, conservadora, preconceituosa, ignorante, religiosa e portadora de armas, ambiente propício para que retrógrados como Trump e seus seguidores ineptos se elejam em todo mundo, na lamentável onda conservadora que voltou a nos assombrar. O filme, pelo menos, traz uma esperança de entendimento, depois de tanto ódio irracional. Frances McDormand deserved the Best Actress Oscar, as a mother who had her daughter killed and, in her grieve, set fire to a small country town in the US. Sam Rockwell also deserved his Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor as a troubled police deputy. Moreover, if there were another award, it certainly would go to Woody Harrelson, as the police chief who mirrors the stereotype of the ignorant but decent redneck. If the force of the movie is in Frances’ dilacerating performance, it is from Harrelson that comes its grandeur, when he brings to the plot a dedicated and conscious officer, worried with the spreading result of a tragedy that took place one year before. The movie is a portrait of the countryside in America: white, poor, conservative, biased, ignorant, religious and gun bearer, an ideal environment for the election of retrograde people as Trump and his followers around the world, on this regrettable conservative wave that haunts us. The movie, at least, brings us some hope of understanding, after such irrational hatred.
