apaixonados, ou seja, gente assim como todo mundo, que ri, chora, sofre, se alegra
e sonha. O longa não é só um tributo aos Beatles,
mas ao poder da gentileza, da honestidade e do romantismo, características
sempre presentes na obra de Curtis. Nesta altura, todos já sabem: depois de
um apagão global, o mundo recomeça com a existência do quarteto de
Liverpool totalmente apagada da história. Jack (Himesh Patel, a cara, o jeito e
até a voz de Raj, de THE BIG BANG THEORY), aparentemente, é o único que ainda
se lembra de Paul, John, Ringo e George e da monumental obra do quarteto. Então,
aproveita a deixa e se passa pelo autor dos sucessos, alcançando a fama
rapidamente. No meio desta história, a doce Ellie (Lily James, mais encantadora
do que nunca) torna-se a referência existencial mais importante para Jack. O filme
é uma homenagem aos Beatles, mas também se presta a uma atitude meio esquecida e
fundamental: o exercício de redescobrir o mundo, como se fosse a primeira vez, todos
os dias, ao passarmos por esta longa e sinuosa estrada. The director/writer Richard Curtis (FOUR WEDDINGS

for lovers - that is people like us, who laugh, cry, suffer, and dream. The
movie is not only a homage to The Beatles, but also to the power of kindness,
honesty, and romance – traits that are always present in Curtis’ work. By this
time, everyone knows: after a global blackout, the memory of the quartet from
Liverpool is completely erased from history. Jack (Himesh Patel, the face, the
look and even the voice of Raj, from THE BIG BANG THEORY), apparently is the
only person who remembers the Beatles hits. He then pretends to be the author of
the songs, reaching success overnight. In the midst of this, the sweet Ellie (Lily
James, more enchanting than ever) becomes the existential reference for Jack. The
movie is not only a tribute for the Beatles but also rescues a fundamental
attitude: the practice of rediscovering the world with fresh eyes, every day,
while we walk along this long and winding road.
