 ELVIS (USA, 2022) – Baz Luhrmann já foi responsável por alguns momentos indesculpáveis na história do cinema: AUSTRÁLIA (2008), MOULIN ROUGE! (2001) e O GRANDE GASTBY. Porém, em ELVIS, ele dá um salto quântico em matéria de direção. O filme é tudo que se poderia esperar para narrar a vida de um personagem estelar em todos os sentidos. Visto pelos olhos do coronel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks, meio caricato), um pilantra explorador do seu pupilo, ELVIS acompanha os primeiros passos do cantor, seu sucesso imenso e a fase final dos shows na década de 70. Austin Butler, ao mergulhar no personagem de forma tão intensa e verdadeira, nos faz acreditar que realmente Elvis viverá para sempre. Baz Luhrmann is responsible for some unforgiven moments in the cinema: AUTRALIA, MOULIN ROUGE! and THE GREAT GASTBY. However, with ELVIS, wee have a great leap in terms of direction. The movie is everything we can expect to be in touch with a stellar character in all aspects. Seen by Tom Parker’s eyes (played by Tom Hanks, a little bit over), a scoundrel who exploited his pupil, ELVIS follows the singer’s first steps, his huge success and the final part of his life in the 70s. By taking the plunge and playing a character with such intensity abd truth, Austin Butler makes us believe that Elvis will be living forever.
