Isabelle (Delpy) é uma geneticista saindo de um casamento tóxico e sua atenção é somente para sua filha Zoe (daí o título óbvio...). A partir daí, o roteiro se ocupa superficialmente de questões éticas em relação à clonagem humana, se detendo desproporcionalmente nos fatos geradores do conflito e menos nas consequências existenciais, além de simplificar a solução científica para o desfecho da história. Julie Delpy é uma atriz interessante, dosando comedidamente o sofrimento e a esperança de uma mulher marcada por perdas aparentemente incontornáveis. Isabelle (Delpy) is a geneticist recovering from a toxic marriage and her only focus is her daughter Zoe (which justifies the obvious title…). From then on, the script deals superficially with ethical issues about human cloning, giving disproportionally more importance to the cause than to the existential consequences, besides simplifying a scientific solution to the ending of the story.
