(BELA LUGOSI DOCUMENTARY) -There are many interesting aspects of Lugosi's life that are unspoken of because of the impact of his role as Dracula, in the 1931 Universal movie. Lugosi fought in World War I because he disagreed with the fact that actors in Hungary, his home place, were exempt from military service. He was also a famous actor in Europe in those days. According to the testimony of his son, he was very educated, a fierce reader and always interested in cultural matters. Due to his sucess with the play DRACULA, Universal Studios invited him to replay the role ina a feature motion picture. Lugosi was prepared to exude everything that was required for the role in screen and was a big success. At the end of his life, Lugosi faced the problem with drugs and was the first Hollywood star to reveal his addiction. Worshiped by director Ed Wood, Lugosi still had the chance to work in low-budget productions with him and, in 1956, died with a script in his hand.
