(THE PERILS OF A SUPERHERO) - Documentary about the life and career of George Reeves, the star of THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, produced along the 50's and a big hit on american TV and also when broadcasted abroad, inclusive in Brasil, according to my early childhood memories. The documentary focuses on his attempts to pursue a career in the cinema and his decision to take the part of Superman, in a TV show. It turned that the show was a hit, and George became a star overnight, a log term drem of his. After seven seasons, THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN was cancelled and George had to face the fact that the was so stereotyped by the character that he could not find any other role to play wheresoever. Although he had the makings of a good actor, he found himself in a whirpool of emotions due to his troubled love life and heavy drinking. By the end of 1959, he was found dead in his bedroom, with a bullet in his forehead. The police considered it a suicide.
