BORBOLETA NEGRA (BLACK BUTTERFLY, USA 2017) – Suspense com Antonio Banderas e Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Paul (Banderas) é um escritor em crise criativa que se isola numa casa no meio da floresta. Encontra um viajante, Jack (Meyers), que o livra de uma briga de bar e o convida para passar uns dias com ele. A partir daí, o forasteiro passa a querer interferir na história que Paul não conseguia escrever. A tensão entre os dois personagens vai crescendo, na medida que as atitudes de Jack se tornam mais herméticas, instilando em Paul reações defensivas. O problema é a solução preguiçosa apresentada no desfecho. Os roteiristas já deviam ter recebido seu “paycheck” e resolveram ir para casa mais cedo, deixando todo mundo com a sensação de que fomos lesados. A última cena estraga o que o filme tinha de bom. Veja e confira, mas não diga que não avisei. Ou melhor, desligue assim que o “close-up” de Bandeira começar a entrar em “fading”. Isto lhe dará a sensação de que seu tempo não foi perdido. Paul (Banderas) is a writer with creative crisis who is now living in a farmhouse, in the woods. He meets a drifter, Jack (Meyers), who saves him from a bar fight, and invites him to spend some days in his house. From then on, the drifter starts interfering in the novel Paul couldn’t finish. The tension between the two characters grows accordingly to Jack’s hermetic reactions, making Paul be more defensive. The trouble is the lazy solution for the end. The writers must have received their paycheck and decided to go home earlier, leaving us empty-handed. The last scene spoils whatever positive aspect the movie might have. Check it, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. Or, you may turn off as soon as the close-up on Banderas starts fading – this will give you the feeling that you haven’t wasted your time.
