O HÓSPEDE (THE GUEST, USA, 2014) – Um rapaz bate à porta da família Peterson dizendo ser amigo de batalhão do filho mais velho, morto em combate. Pouco a pouco, vai ganhando a simpatia e confiança dos pais e do filho mais novo, a quem o estranho ajuda com os bullies da escola, menos a filha adolescente, que o olha com desconfiança. Fica evidente que se trata de um psicopata, e o diretor Adam Wingard não faz questão de esconder isso. Pelo contrário: vai gradativamente carregando nas tintas até chegar a uma quase paródia. O roteiro se perde um pouco do meio para o fim, mas o resultado final atende às expectativas construídas na primeira parte. ENGLISH: A young man knocks on the door of the Patterson family saying that he is their older son’s friend, who was killed during the war. Gradually, he gains the parents’ confidence and establishes a close connection with the younger son, whom he helps with the bullies at school. The only one suspicious of him is the teen daughter. From the start, it clear that he is a psycho, and the director Adam Wingard makes it clear that it is his intention. Step by step, he stresses he rhythm until getting close to parody. The plot is a bit uneven from the middle to the end, but the result is satisfactory.
