STARMAN –O HOMEM DAS ESTRELAS (STARMAN, USA, 1984) – Síndrome de Estocolmo levada às fímbrias dos arroubos românticos, STARMAN ainda é um dos meus filmes favoritos, pela história emocionante (embora também meio ingênua aos olhos de hoje), por ser ficção científica e pela atuação sensível de de Jeff Bridges. Ele é um extraterreste que assume a forma do marido recém falecido de Jane Hayden (Karen Allen, de INDIANA JONES) e vai se humanizando à medida em que se apaixona por ela, depois de a sequestrar para chegar ao lugar onde será recolhido pela nave de seu planeta. Abstraindo-se das imprecisões do roteiro, o filme de John Carpenter tem momentos preciosos e delicados, que devem ser apreciados com o coração, em vez da ortodoxia da ciência. ENGLISH: Stockhom syndrome taken to the utmost of the romantic rapture, STARMAN still is one of my favorite movies, because of the touching plot – although a little bit naïve under today’s eyes – because it is science fiction and because of Jeff Bridges’ sensitive performance. He is an extraterrestrial who takes the form of the late husband of Jane Hayden (Karen Allen) and gets more and more human as he falls in love for her, after kidnapping her to arrive at the meeting with his mother-ship. Abstracting from the plot imprecisions, John Carpenter’s movie has precious and delicate moments that should be appreciated with the heart, instead of the orthodoxy of science.
