A LIVRARIA (THE BOOKSHOP, Inglaterra, Espanha, Alemanha, 2017)– Como não amar um filme chamado A LIVRARIA? Em 1959, a cativante Florence (Emily Mortimer, encantadora) transforma uma casa arruinada, de um vilarejo retrô na costa inglesa, em livraria, para oferecer aos locais os benefícios de autores como Nabokov, Kingsley Amis e Ray Bradbury. A seu favor, tem o misantropo Edmund (Bill Nighy, comovente em todas as cenas), um leitor voraz, que logo se interessa pelo novo negócio e, claro, por sua dona. Contra, todo o restante da comunidade, sob a liderança de uma ricaça autoritária, Violet (Patricia Clarkson), que parece ver mais vantagens na ignorância atávica do que na sabedoria dos livros – algo bem similar ao que acontece no Brasil de hoje. Mas, enfim, o filme é lindo, delicado e uma inspiração para quem ama os livros. How not to love a movie called THE BOOKSHOP? In 1959, the captivating Florence (Emily Mortimer, charming) transforms an old ruined house, in a retro village in the British Coast, in a bookshop, to offer the locals the benefits of authors like Nabokov, Kinglsey Amis, and Ray Bradbury. In her favor, she has the misanthrope Edmund (Bill Nighy, poignant in every scene), an avid reader who soon gets interested in the shop and in its owner. Against, all the community, under the leadership of a rich authoritarian woman, Violet (Patricia Clarkson), who seems to see more advantages in the atavistic ignorance than in the wisdom of the books – something similar to what has been happening in Brazil of today. Anyway, the movie is beautiful, delicate and inspirational for the book lovers.
