A QUEDA (DER UNTERGANG, Alemanha, Áustria,
itália, 2004) – Quem melhor do que os alemães para fazer um filme sobre o nazismo? Bruno Ganz (o Damiel, de ASAS DO DESEJO) está perfeito como Hitler no seus últimos dias, homiziado no seu bunker no Reichstag. O fio condutor da história é a relação da secretária Traudl Junge (Alexandra Maria Lara, cuja beleza impactante parece que vai explodir a qualquer momento) com Hitler, enquanto testemunha o desmoronamento do núcleo central do nazismo. Os fatos relatados na biografia de Adolfo, de Ian Kershaw, estão fielmente retratados neste filme excepcional, provavelmente o melhor já feito sobre WW2, focando, principalmentem a figura de Adolfo. A abordagem não é contra ou a favor do nazismo, apenas mostra os fatos, sem caracterizar os oficiais como monstros o tempo todo. Podemos ver como o grande império moderno se desintegrou, desde o isolamento de Berlim, até o rebuliço do bunker, onde os nazistas estavam presos, como ratos num navio afundando, conscientes do que os esperava, mas sem se condições de fugir do destino que criaram para eles mesmos. Who better to make a WW2 film than the Germans themselves. Bruno Ganz (Damiel, in WINGS OF DESIRE) is simply perfect as Hitler in his final days, hidden in the bunker underneath the Reichstag. The storyline follows the secretrary Traudl Junge (Alexandra Maria Lara, whose incredible beauty seems to explode at any moment) and her work with Hitler, while witnessing the fall of Nazi hard core. The facts from Hitler’s bio, by Ian Hersahw, are depicted here. This film comes out on top, perhaps the finest ever made on the subject of the war (though the Belorussian "Come and See" & "Schindler's List" are darn close as well). The movie is neither pro-Nazi nor does it depict all Nazis as mindless monsters. It gives an impression of utter realism. A film that allows us to watch the disintegration of the largest empire in modern history, from the inside out. Beginning after the start of the siege of Berlin, the bulk of the film takes place in the cramped bunkers below the city, where Hitler and his officers are trapped like rats on a sinking ship, aware of their fate, but not smart enough, not willing enough, or maybe incapable of escaping the fates they created for themselves.
