O RESGATE DO SOLDADO RYAN
(SAVE PRIVATE RYAN, USA, 1998) – Spielberg faz
sua homenagem aos soldados da II Guerra em grande estilo. A sequência inicial -
o desembarque das tropas na Normandia – é um primor em termos de execução e timing.
Claro, Tom Hanks põe a barra lá em cima em termos de conexão com o espectador. Todos
os seus personagens estabelecem uma identidade imediata com o público, seja
qual for o gênero. Com ele, assim como Matt Damon (que é o Ryan do título),
tudo parece ficar mais digno. Spielberg pays his homage to the soldiers during the WW2 in a
magnificent way. The initial sequence – the deployment of the troops in
Normandy – is a masterpiece in terms of execution and timing. Of course, Tom Hanks
raises the bar in terms of connection with the audience. All his characters
establish an immediate identity with the viewer, in whatever gender he is. With
him, as with Matt Damon (he is the Ryan of the title), everything seems to be
more dignified.
