QUATRO CASAMENTOS E UM FUNERAL (FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, UK, 1994) – Este é um filme sobre a chance de encontrar o amor de sua vida. Por isso, é um filme encantador. Todo cenário romântico inglês está ali: Hugh Grant sendo Hugh Grant (o que é ótimo), a chuva constante, as piadas sutis e Kristin Scott Thomas (Céus, como pode ser tão linda?). A direção impecável de Mike Newell conduz os cinco eventos ao longo dos quais a história se desenvolve. Andie MacDowell me parece mal escalada – a mesma sensação vendo o filme novamente agora. This is a movie about finding the love of your life. That’s why it is so enchanting. All the British scenery is there: Hugh Grant being Hugh Grant (which is great), the pouring rain, the subtle jokes and Kristin Scott Thomas (Gosh! how can someone be so gorgeous?). Mike Newell’s seamless direction leads the five events along which the story develops. Andie MacDowell still seems to me miscast – the same sensation after so many years. Amazon Prime.
