CIDADE DOS ANJOS (CITY OF ANGELS, USA, 1998) – Versão americana de ASAS DO DESEJO, de Win Wenders, CDA é tão emocionante quanto o original alemão, principalmente por causa da atuação comovente de Nicholas Cage, como um anjo apaixonado por uma médica, convincentemente interpretada por Meg Ryan. A bela fotografia e o roteiro ajustado (só poderia acontecer mesmo em Los Angeles), além da participação brilhante de Dennis Franz, são os pontos altos do filme. Imperdível. Para ser visto e revisto sempre. Afinal, como não amar uma história com livros, bibliotecas e Hemmingway? American version of Win Wenders’ WINGS OF DESIRE, COA is as touching as the German original, mainly because of the moving performance of Nicholas Cage, portraying an angel who falls in love with a doctor, convincingly played by Meg Ryan. The beautiful photography and the adapted script (the story could only take place in Los Angeles), besides Dennis Franz’s brilliant participation, are the highlights of the movie.
