Com cinematografia perfeita e cenas memoráveis, acompanhando um grupo de jovens jogados nos horrores da WW1, num dramático rito de passagem, a história é uma impressionante tentativa de mostrar as absurdas justificativas para as guerras. O filme mostra como a capitulação da Alemanha para a França, em 1918, apontava para a continuidade do conflito, vinte anos depois. Perfect cinematography and memorable scenes, follwing a group of young men thrown into the horrors of the WW1, in a dramatic coming of age ritual, the story is an impressive attempt to envisage the absurd justifications for the wars.
