Os quatro primeiros episódios dirigidos por Tim Burton dão o tom da série: a abordagem juvenil (escola para adolescentes marginalizados) se mistura com thriller de mistério e, claro, monstros sobrenaturais. Porém, a lógica dos enquadramentos e a atmosfera da história mudam sem a direção de Burton, e do meio para o fim, a série cai num ritmo quase banal. Jenna Ortega consegue dar um novo entendimento a um personagem já conhecido, e isso é um feito possível só para uma atriz especial como ela. She had already drawn attention in the second season of YOU, as Ellie Alves, but Wednesday is one of those definitive meetings between actress and character. The first four episodes directed by Tim Burton set the series tone: the juvenile approach (the school for outcasts) is mixed with a mystery thriller and, of course, monsters. However, the framework logic and the atmosphere change without Burton’s direction and the series rhythm decreases a little bit. Jenna Ortega succeeds in giving a new understanding to a well-known character and this is quite an achievement. Netflix.
