VICE (VICE, USA, 2018) – Christian Bale, mais uma vez, arrasa na caracterização de um personagem, como fez em O MAQUINISTA e em O LUTADOR. Além de excelente ator, é capaz de passar por transformações físicas impressionantes. Aqui, ele é Dick Cheney, um vice-presidente que agia nos bastidores, não tinha qualquer carisma e nunca chamava atenção para si, concentrando o poder em níveis extraordinários. Bale realmente arrasa, assim como Sam Rockwell no papel de Bush. Amy Adams está magnífica, como esposa de Chaney e o verdadeiro motor de sua recuperação existencial. Mas quem também merece todo o destaque é Steve Carell, esfuziante como Donald Rumsfeld, mentor de Cheney e, depois, seu ministro da Defesa. Christian Bale, once more, rocks with another characterization, as he did in THE MACHINIST and THE FIGHTER. Besides being an outstanding actor, he is able to go through impressive physical changes. Here, he is Dick Cheney, a vice-president who acted behind the scenes, did not have any charisma and never called any attention, concentrating power at extraordinary levels. Bale rocks, as does Sam Rockwell in the role of Bush. Amy Adams is magnificent as Cheney’s wife and the true motor behind his existential recovery. But who also deserves the spotlight is Steve Carell, dazzling as Donald Rumsfeld, Cheney’s mentor and, afterwards, his Secretary of Defense.
