A NOITE DO JOGO (GAME NIGHT, USA, 2018) – O filme recebeu boas críticas, em função do suposto equilíbrio entre o humor bobo e o sofisticado com que os diretores John Francis Daley e Jonathan Goldstein trataram esta comédia. A menos que alguém esqueça, uma produção assim, com estas diretrizes, também tem que ser inteligente, de alguma forma. Não é o caso de GAME NIGHT, definitivamente. A falta de originalidade do roteiro – a realidade que se confunde perigosamente com a vida real – se alia a situações com restritíssima musculatura hilariante. Jason Bateman não é Tom Hanks, embora ele pareça não se convencer disso. Rachel McAdams (por que tão linda???) é a única que se sobressai num elenco limitado que em nada ajuda a um filme idem. Porém, surpreendeu-me a boa recepção que o longa teve. Mas as pessoas tendem a acreditar naquilo que elas querem que seja verdade. Lest anyone forget, a production like that, with such guidelines, has also to be intelligent, somehow. It is not the case of GAME NIGHT. Not only does the plot lack any trace of originality – reality mixed with real life – but it also has limited funny muscles. Jason Bateman is not Tom Hanks, althought he does not seem to be convinced of that. Rachel McAdams (why so gorgeous???) is the only one who has some merit in this limited cast that does not do any favor to the film. The good reception of the movie really surprised me. But the wish is the father of the thought.
