VU (USA, 2006) – Já foi dito, mas não custa repetir: Denzel Washington
é obrigatório! Neste sensacional thriller, que mistura investigação policial e
ficção científica, Tony Scott dá uma lição de direção num roteiro que envolve
um experimento de viagem no tempo, um protagonista talentosíssimo (Denzel
Washington) e uma bela mulher (Paula Patton, repleta de significados, por quem
valeria a pena voltar no tempo para reencontrar). Ritmo perfeito, fotografia
inebriante. A beleza do filme (além de Paula Patton, claro) está nas múltiplas
linhas do tempo sendo mostradas em paralelo umas com as outras, gerando
questões que o roteiro responde de maneira muito inteligente. Tony, que foi eclipsado
por seu irmão mais famoso, Ridley, produz uma sequência para ficar na história
do cinema: uma perseguição de carro, no presente, de um carro que está no
passado. Coisa de gênio. It has been

this amazing thriller, which mixes police investigation and science fiction,
Tony Scott teaches a lesson on directing in a story that involves time travel
experiment, a talented leading actor (Washington) and a gorgeous woman (Paula
Patton, pregnant with meanings, for whom it would be worth going back in time).
Perfect rhythm, inebriating photography. The beauty of this film (besides Paula
Patton, of course) is in the multiple timelines being shown parallel to each
other, generating questions that are answered by the story in a clever way.
Tony, greatly overshadowed by his famous brother, Ridley, produces a sequence
meant to be in the movie history: a car chase during the present in pursuit of
a vehicle in the past. Definitely, the work of a genius.
