O GAROTO DA BICICLETA (LE GAMIN AU VÉLO, Bélgica, 2011) – Os breves e intensos 87 minutos do filme reservam momentos plenos, transformadores, de que só o grande cinema é capaz. Cyrill (Thomas Doret), 11 anos, largado pelo pai numa instituição, é tão profundamente inconformado com esse abandono, que faz tudo para não crer nele, ou, percebe-se, seu coração não suportará. A bicicleta é tudo que dá sentido à sua vida. Até que aparece Samantha (a linda Cécile De France, de ALÉM DA VIDA, dirigido por Clint Eastwood) e o acolhe, com limites, mas com um daqueles tipos de amor para o qual não existem razões aparentes. O filme parece sugerir que tal amor é, sim, possível, e o mistério da acolhida de Samantha a Cyrill reforça essa hipótese com uma contundência poucas vezes vista no cinema, ou fora dele. The brief and intense 87 minutes of the movie bring us insightful and transformative moments that only great movies are capable of. Cyrill (Thomas Doret), 11 years old, abandoned by his father, is such deeply unhappy with this rejection that does everything he can not to believe in it, or, we can tell, his heart would break. The bike is everything that gives sense to his life. Then, Samantha (the gorgeous Cécile De France, from Clint Eastwood’s HEREAFTER) shows up and protects him with those kind of love for which there are no apparent reasons. The movie seems to suggest that a love like that is possible, and the way Samantha cares about him reinforces this premise with a rare sense of purpose rarely seen in the movies or out of them.
