CINEMA OLHO (KINOGLAZ, URSS, 1924) – Interessante documentário para promoção da juventude soviética, mostrando o cotidiano da população, especialmente os jovens fazendo propaganda socialista, em contraste com o setor privado. Embora não tenha uma história no sentido convencional, este aspecto ideológico se sobrepõe às sequências individuais. De qualquer forma, acho emocionante ver imagens de uma época tão distante. This documentary promoting the joys of life in a Soviet village centers around the activities of the Young Pioneers. These children are constantly busy, pasting propaganda posters on walls, distributing hand bills, exhorting all to "buy from the cooperative" as opposed to the Private Sector, promoting temperance, and helping poor widows. Although there isn't a story in the conventional sense, two common themes hold it together and give it substance beyond the individual sequences. Anyway, I found it very touching to watch scenes of such a distant era. TC Cult.
