In the XVIII century, in the USA, in the aftermath of a family tragedy, Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) weds the mysterious Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston) and moves to England to live with him and his not less mysterious sister, Lucille (Jessica Chastain), in a ruined mansion, where sobrenatural facts uncover a terrible reality. Guillermo Del Toro’s  directional aesthetic goes along with this ghost story. But it is Jessica Chastain who dominates the movie, playing her role with scary intensity. Netflix.
