OS ESPIÕES (SPIONE, Alemanha, 1928) – A UFA tinha insistido com Fritz Lang, depois do alto custo do seu filme anterior, METROPOLIS, que quase levou o estúdio à bancarrota, numa produção mais barata. Desta forma, Lang filmou OS ESPIÕES em planos estreitos, com muitos close-ups, sem grandes cenários. Deu certo, e o filme foi um grande sucesso. Com a imagem magnificamente restaurada, é uma ótima chance de assistir a mais uma obra de arte do mestre alemão do cinema. UFA had insisted on the film being made inexpensively, as Fritz Lang’s previous film, METROPOLIS, had brought the studio to near bankruptcy. Therefore, Lang chose to do most of the shots in narrow settings with lots of close-ups and no big sets. It worked, and the movie became a huge success. With the magnificent restauration, it is a great chance to watch another masterpiece of the great German cinema master. TC Cult.
