Carmen se beneficia do investimento, ganhando papéis em que corporifica uma concepção forjada por Hollywood de certo tipo latino americano. Isso também tinha a ver com a expansão do comércio com a América do Sul e seu apoio aos norte-americanos durante a II Guerra Mundial. Documentary about the actress and singer who appeared in the Brazilian musical scenario in the 30’s and afterward made a hit in the United States due to the American government’s strategy, through the good neighbor policy, of rapprochement and political alignment with Latin America. Carmen benefits from the investment, gaining roles that solidified a Hollywood conception of a certain Latino type. It had also to do with the expansion of the commerce with South America and its endorsement for the American participation in the WWII.
