Ao fim, o terror intrínseco desta história se transforma, assim como Brundle, num dos desfechos mais tristes do cinema. The excellent pre-CGI effects also provide the basis of an intense love story, interspersed with terror and tragedy, from a, let's say, minimalist perspective. Jeff Goldblum is phenomenal in the role and hits the nail on the head by composing a scientist who, as he loses his human form, keeps his humanity intact.
