BATMAN (USA, 1989) – O primeiro grande filme de Tim Burton já traz suas marcas registradas, com cenários góticos, personagens marginalizados, a trilha sonora precisa de Danny Elfman e direção de arte meio retrô, sem locações externas. A escolha de Michael Keaton, na época, provocou revolta entre os fãs, mas, de certa forma, sua escalação tem muito a ver com a vertente disruptiva da direção de Burton. Acaba funcionando, principalmente porque o grande destaque do filme é o Coringa de Jack Nicholson. É ele o comandante das ações mais vibrantes da história, em torno do qual os outros personagens se tornam mero coadjuvantes. Na cena na qual ele vandaliza obras de arte, ele poupa a pintura “Figure with Meat”, de Francis Bacon – esse quadro aparece em CORINGA, de 2019. Kim Bassinger tem uma atuação fraca, sem qualquer participação mais efetiva na história, à parte de se encarregar de ser o objeto amoroso de Bruce Wayne.
