QUANTUM OF SOLACE (UK, 2008) – Esta é a edição mais fraca da série protagonizada por Daniel Craig, embora ele, como James Bond, tenha sempre sido mais que perfeito. Ainda temos o vilão mais sem graça deste período, Dominic Greene Mathieu Amalric (quase um sósia do Pedro Cardoso), e uma bond girl igualmente desenxabida, Olga Kurylenko, principalmente depois de ter sucedido a inesquecível Vesper Lynn de Eva Green. O roteiro é quase infantil – Dominic quer roubar a água da Bolívia e ajudar um golpe de Estado, numa clara referência à crise de abastecimento do ano 2000, durante a qual as reservas de água foram vendidas a investidores estrangeiros – e a história acaba tão fragmentada quanto a shaky câmera do diretor Marc Forster. Apesar de um tempo de cena maior para M (Judy Dench), todos sentimos falta de Moneypenny e Q. Coming to think of it, this is the weakest installment of the series starring Daniel Craig, although he, as James Bond, has always been more than perfect. We still have the most dullest villain of this period, Dominic Greene, Mathieu Amalric (almost a Pedro Cardoso lookalike), and an equally unabashed Bond girl, Olga Kurylenko, especially after having succeeded the unforgettable Vesper Lynn by Eva Green. The script is almost childish – Dominic wants to steal Bolivia's water and help a coup d'état, in a clear reference to the supply crisis of the year 2000, during which water reserves were sold to foreign investors – and the story ends up as fragmented as director Marc Forster's shaky camera. Despite a longer screen time for M (Judy Dench), we all miss Moneypenny and Q. Prime.
