THE CROWN – TEMP 2 – 10 EPISÓDIOS (THE CROWN, UK, 2017) – Excepcional em todos os sentidos, a segunda temporada de THE CROWN dá continuidade à história da família mais infeliz do mundo, os Windsors. O destaque, além da magnífica Claire Foy, desta vez, é Vanessa Kirby, a party girl Princesa Margareth. Sempre à sombra de sua irmã, Margareth se entregava a uma rotina convoluta em romances e festas, sem encontrar sentido em sua vida que, no cotejo com a de Elizabeth, era muito mais interessante. Kirby já chamava atenção em MISSÃO IMPOSSÍVEL FALLOUT e PIECES OF A WOMAN, mas aqui ela foi além e transformou a irmã mais nova da rainha no membro mais interessante da família real. Claire Foy trouxe para seu personagem profundidade e nuanças através de uma silente fragilidade e contenção. Matt Smith não teve dificuldade de fazer um Philip desagradável, arrogante, superficial. Alguns bons episódios: DEAR, MRS KENNEDY (ep.8) foi particularmente interessante, apesar da escalação equivocada de Michael C. Hall como JFK; e BERYL (ep 4), no qual Margareth conhece Tony Armstrong-Jones (o excelente Matthew Goode), seu futuro marido, com o qual foi muito infeliz. Outstanding in all senses, the second season of THE CROWN goes on narrating the story of the most unhappy family ever, THE WINDSORS. The highlight, besides the magnificent Claire Foy, is Vanessa Kirby, the party girl Princess Margareth. Always in her sister’s shadow, Margareth submitted herself to a routine of affairs and parties, without finding any sense in her own life – much more interesting of compared to her sister’s. Kirby had already drawn attention to her talent ion MISSION IMPOSSIBLE FALLOUT and PIECES OF A WOMAN, but her she exceeds herself as the queen’s younger sister, the most interesting royal family member. Claire Foy has brought such depth and nuance to her character through a quiet fragility and restraint. Matt Smith had no difficulty in playing Philip as a obnoxious, arrogant and shallow. Some good episodes: DEAR MRS KENNEDY (ep 8) was particularly interesting, despite Michal C. Hall being miscast as JFK; and BERYL (ep 4), in which Margareth meets Tony Armstrong-Jones (the great Matthew Goode), her future husband, with whom she was extremely unhappy. Netflix.
