No Neorrealismo, o ordinário mostra-se imensamente importante para uma compreensão completa de contexto de época. É o simples a serviço do complexo, do minimalismo do roteiro ao cenário caótico de um mundo em reconstrução. Sergio Leone foi assistente de De Sica neste filme.
