3903 - PERDIDOS NO ESPAÇO (2021)

    PERDIDOS NO ESPAÇO – TEMPORADA 3 (LOST IN SPACE, USA, 2021) – Confusa e arrastada, essa temporada ficou perdida. Apesar dos bons CGIs, os episódios parecem desconectados e sem propósito, a não ser para intermináveis diálogos sobre os traumas da família Robinson. Os adolesentes presos num planeta muito parecido com a Terra parecem uma versão tardia de LORD OF THE FLIES. Taylor Russel (Judy) tem um destaque maior dos que nas temporadas passadas. Confused and boring, this season is lost. Despite the good CGIs, the episodes seem disconnected and pointless, and there is only room for the Robinson’s family traumas. The teenagers stranded on an Earth-like planet look like a late version of LORD OF THE FLIES. Taylor Russel (Judy) gets more attention than in the previous seasons. Netflix.   

 

3902 - SIN CITY (2005)

Rosario Dawson, um pecado...

  SIN CITY (USA, 2005) - A motion picture of smoky film noir aesthetics and comic book unrealities, Sin City proceeds with a boozy score, ultra-violence, and rampant sexuality. Such are elements that—when combined with black-and-white photography, splashes of vibrant color, men in long trenchcoats with guns, sleazy dames with attitude, and moody narration—emit a primal, visceral atmosphere saturated into every scene. At once seductive and abhorrent, it’s an experience that cannot be ignored, whether you’re offended or disgusted by it, or rapt by its unrelenting style. Robert Rodriguez’s 2005 hit adapts stories from Frank Miller’s Sin City graphic novels published throughout the 1990s, and in them, he finds a unique kind of cinema in which style reigns supreme. And not just the obvious visual luster achieved in the film’s fantastically shadowy presentation, where hard-boiled tales of Mike Hammer and Phillip Marlowe from the 1940s and 1950s are influences. In a most Tarantino-esque flourish, Rodriguez takes inspiration from various genres in film and literature and exaggerates them, amplifying them to comic books extremes until he compiles them into something so innovative it can only be described as new. Pay close attention to Rosario Dawson. 

 

3901 - NARCOS MÉXICO - TEMPORADA 3 - 10 EPISÓDIOS (2021)

          NARCOS – MÉXICO – TEMPORADA 3 -  As promised by the finale of season two, the final season of Narcos: Mexico focuses on the emerging bosses from the cartels who step up in Gallardo’s place: Amado Carillo Fuentes (José María Yázpik), of Juárez; Benjamín (Alfonso Dosal); Ramón (Manuel Masalva) and Enedina Arellano Félix (Mayra Hermosillo), of Tijuana; and Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán (Alejandro Edda) of Sinaloa. Season 3 will be set in the 1990s, when the globalization of the drug business ignites. After Felix’s empire has splintered, the new episodes will focus on the cartels that emerged to take over that power vacuum created in its wake and the new generation of Mexican kingpins that ushered them in.

Jim Caviezel e Michel Anderson

    PERSON OF INTEREST – TEMPORADA 1 – 23 EPISÓDIOS -  (USA, 2011) – Esse é um dos seriados mais espetaculares da TV. Jim Caviezel é um ator superlativo, e sua atuação é mesmerizante, como um bom samaritano que salva vidas com a ajuda de uma IA criada por Harold Finch (Michael Anderson, o melhor amigo que alguém poderia ter) e de uma detetive do NYPD, Carter (Taraji P. Henson). Caviezel é John Reese – um ex-agente da CIA que perdeu o grande amor de sua vida (sim, até ele...), capaz de aliar inteligência e força na solução para os casos indicados pela Máquina de Finch. E isso sem deixar de falar sussurrando. This is one of the most spetacular series on TV. Jim Caviezel is a superlative actor, and his performance is mesmerizing as the good samaritan who saves lives with the help of AI created by Harold Finch (Michael Anderson, the best friend one could have) and of a NYPD detective, Carter (Taraji P. Henson). Caviezel is John Reese – an ex CIA agent who lost the love of his life (yep, that happens…), able to associate intelligence and force in the solution of the problems indicated by Finch’s Machine, always whispering.    

3899 - DESEJO E REPARAÇÃO (2007)

Keira Knightley, uma coisa...

         DESEJO E REPARAÇÃO (ATONEMENT, UK, França, 2007) – Excepcional adaptação de um dos melhores livros dos últimos tempos, do inglês Ian McEwan. É uma história sobre como um pequeno equívoco pode ter consequências devastadoras na a vida das pessoas envolvidas, tudo isso tendo como pano de fundo a eclosão da WW2. Keira Knightley, tão linda, tão talentosa, está uma perfeição no papel de Cecilia, cuja irmã mais nova, Briony (a insopitável Saoirse Ronan) passará o resto da vida buscando alguma forma de reparação pelo crime que cometeu. O esplêndido James McAvoy completa o elenco. O filme é baseado em torno do ato de observar, interpretar e registrar, com os olhos propriamente dito, mas também com o coração. Imperdível. Remarkable adaptation of Ian McEwan’s book, the movie is a story of how a small mistake can have devastating consequences in the lives of two other persons, against the scenery of WW2. Keira Knightley, so gorgeous, so talented, is simply perfection on the role of Cecilia, whose younger sister, Briony (the uncontrollable Saoirse Ronan) will spend the rest of her life searching for some atonement for the crime she perpetrated. The splendid James McAvoy is another highlight of the cast. The movie is about the act of observing, interpreting and registering, not only with one’s own eyes, but also with the heart. Unmissable.
