O CRIADO (THE SERVANT, UK,
1963) - Jovem rico (James Fox que, anos mais tarde, faria VESTÍGIOS DO DIA) acaba de comprar residência no centro de Londres e contrata criado (Dick Bogarde) para lhe auxiliar. A relação dos dois vai se tornando complexa e, aos poucos, a insubordinação começa a tomar proporções catastróficas, que resultam em uma estranha inversão de papeis. Experienced manservant Barrett starts working for foppish aristocrat Tony. Barrett slowly insinuates himself in the house and manipulates his master by slyly rearranging the décor. The arrival of Barrett's alluring and sexually permissive 'sister' fatally severs the class barriers and the boundaries between master and servant, as Tony succumbs to the will of his stronger adversary.
