Seguindo o filão das cinebios musicais que têm tido muito sucesso (o excelente BOHEMIAN
RAPSODY prova isso), o filme de Dexter Fletcher é uma tocante (sem trocadilhos)
e intensa viagem pela vida de Elton John. Taron Egerton, o motor do filme, está
perfeito no papel do artista angustiado, com sérios problemas emocionais em relação
aos pais, mas imensamente talentoso. O talento sempre encontra um caminho. Egerton
ainda tem uma vantagem rara: tem uma voz excepcional e cantou todas as canções
do filme, da linda YOUR SONG a CROCODILE ROCK, sem truques e com impressionante
fidelidade ao espectro vocal de Elton. Following the path of musical biopix that have had
great success (the outstanding BOHEMIAN RAPSODY is an example of this), Dexter
Fletcher’s movie plays up (no pun intended) the facts in Elton John’s life in
an intense way. Taron Egerton, the motor of the film, is perfect on the role of
the anguished artist, with serious family issues, but immensely talented. Talent
always finds a way. Egerton still has a rare advantage: an exceptional voice
and he sang all the songs, from the beautiful YOUR SONG to CROCODILE ROCK, without
any ticks and with an impressive fidelity to Elton’s vocal scope.
