BATMAN ETERNAMENTE (BATMAN FOREVER, USA, 1995) – De fato, deu tudo errado neste filme de Joel Schumacher: os cenários exagerados, com prédios em neon, iluminados em excesso, e sempre muito coloridos, transformaram Gotham City, uma cidade sombria e soturna, em algo que ela nunca foi; os vilões vividos por Jim Carrey e Tommy Lee Jones, com suas atuações caricatas, transformaram o Charada e Duas Caras em palhaços over, com falas piores ainda; a inserção de Robin parece totalmente artificial, sem qualquer conexão com a história de Batman, além do uniforme esdrúxulo; o roteiro, em si, é fraco em relação aos planos dos bandidos e no combate feito por Batman – não se pode, obviamente, cobrar muito realismo no universo criado por Bob Kane, mas aqui deram um pontapé na suspensão de descrença num limite inaceitável. No mais, Val Kilmer faz um Batman bem palatável, apesar de ser jovem demais para o personagem, e Nicole Kidman nem de longe se parece com o festival de procedimentos estéticos a que se submeteu e a desfigurou hoje em dia. Seria uma boa escolha para uma versão feminina do Duas Caras. In fact, everything went wrong in this Joel Schumacher film: the exaggerated sets, with neon buildings, overlit, and always very colorful, transformed Gotham City, a gloomy and dark city, into something it never was; the villains played by Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones, with their caricatured performances, turned the Riddler and Two-Face into exaggerated clowns, with even worse lines; the insertion of Robin seems totally artificial, without any connection to Batman's story, besides the weird uniform; the script itself is weak in relation to the plans of the bad guys and the combat done by Batman – one cannot, obviously, demand much realism in the universe created by Bob Kane, but here they kicked the suspension of disbelief in an unacceptable limit. In addition, Val Kilmer makes a very palatable Batman, despite being too young for the character, and Nicole Kidman doesn't even remotely resemble the festival of aesthetic procedures she underwent and disfigured her today. It would be a good choice for a female version of Two-Face.
