A SOMBRA DO COMANDANTE (THE COMMANDANT’S SHADOW, USA, Alemanha, 2024) – Oitenta anos depois, uma sobrevivente de Auschwitz, Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, se encontra com o filho do comandante do campo, Rudolf Höss – a partir daí, o documentário se ocupa em descrever os horrores da WW2, tendo como fio condutor o filho de Höss e o filho deste, representando a terceira geração pós-guerra, que tem sua contrapartida a filha de Anita, uma psicóloga cuja vida também foi afetada pelos acontecimentos da guerra. Depois de ZONA DE INTERESSE, filme de Jonathan Glazer, que retrata a vida idílica da família Höss, ao lado do campo de Auschwitz, ver o depoimento do filho de Höss se torna um exercício interessante. A princípio, ele entra em negação, dizendo que quase não se lembra daquela época, mas, instigado pelo próprio filho, relata ter poucas lembranças da movimentação do campo, embora sua expressão facial teime em dizer o contrário. De qualquer forma, é emocionante o momento em que ele e Anita estão frente a frente, tomando chá, sem saber o certo como lidar com o peso da guerra em ambos. After ZONE OF INTEREST, a film by Jonathan Glazer, which portrays the idyllic life of the Höss family, next to the Auschwitz camp, seeing the testimony of Höss' son becomes an interesting exercise. At first, he goes into denial, saying that he almost does not remember that time, but, instigated by his own son, he reports having few memories of the movement of the field, although his facial expression insists on saying otherwise. Anyway, it's exciting the moment when he and Anita are face to face, drinking tea, not knowing the right way to deal with the weight of war on both of them. Netflix.
